The NPD Group has revealed that Sony’s PS5 was the best-selling console in North America during September 2022.
As reported by @DomsPlaying on Twitter, hardware dollar sales for the month were up 19%, with PS5 taking the top spot in terms of both units sold and revenue. Nintendo Switch came in second place in terms of units, with the Xbox Series X/S runner-up on the dollars front.
As previously reported, the PS5 was also the best-selling console in the UK during September 2022, and the system has now sold over two million units in the region. Sony’s latest machine is also reportedly enjoying strong sales in other regions in Europe.

Sony launched the PS5 in November 2020 in the US, UK, Europe and other major territories, and the console has shipped 21.7 million units worldwide as of the hardware manufacturer’s latest financial report.
