Slashdot reader Mononymous writes: Again in 2019, digital archivist Jason Scott launched the supply code to Infocom’s traditional textual content adventures. Now the opposite piece of the puzzle is accessible: the supply code (largely in meeting, with some C and Pascal) to their microcomputer interpreters.
Infocom, writer of the best-selling Zork collection, ported their textual content adventures to many of the numerous microcomputer platforms of the Nineteen Eighties through the use of an early digital machine, referred to as the Z-machine or ZIP. This enabled them to promote video games concurrently for the whole lot from the TI-99/4A to the Commodore 128. Hobbyists reverse-engineered the expertise within the Nineteen Nineties to create fashionable implementations, however now the unique supply code will be studied immediately.
